FAQ and Cost

When might hypnotherapy be useful?

Hypnotherapy is widely endorsed as a treatment for habit breaking, stress-related issues and for a range of long-term conditions.

Is Hypnotherapy safe?

Yes. It is a non-invasive therapy, drug free, and no one can be hypnotised against his or her will. You will enter a light trance on becoming very relaxed, so that the conscious mind can be bypassed thus allowing helpful suggestions to be made to the subconscious mind to help to overcome unhelpful behaviour and thought processes.

Is hypnotherapy for children safe?

Hypnotherapy for children and young people is considered highly effective and is completely safe. Children tend to respond very well to hypnosis as they are naturally quite imaginative and use their subconscious minds a great deal more than adults do. Hypnotherapy can help to address a number of issues commonly experienced in childhood, including exam nerves, sleep problems, bed-wetting, fears, eating disorders and low self-esteem.

Does everyone respond to hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis has the capacity to work for the majority of individuals but some are more susceptible to suggestions than others. The most important thing to remember is that you must be fully committed to the process and feel that you can place your trust in me as your hypnotherapist. It's also important to keep an open mind, as any scepticism may subconsciously dampen your susceptibility.

How many sessions of hypnotherapy will I need?

The duration of therapy will depend on your circumstances and the reason for which you are seeking hypnosis. Some issues , such as 'Stop Smoking', may be resolved in a one off service in a single session of up to two hours. Most other issues however, may better suit a longer-term approach with regular weekly sessions. A course of hypnotherapy may be as short as 2 weeks, or upto 12, with the average being 4 to 5 weeks. I will let you know how many sessions I feel you might need when you start therapy, and will be flexible when it comes to decreasing or extending the number of sessions to correlate with your progress and needs.

How long will hypnotherapy sessions last?

This is dependant on your circumstances. One off services can last around two hours, while a general hypnotherapy session will usually take 50 - 60 minutes.

What can Hypnotherapy help with?

Hypnotherapy helps with the following: Anxiety, Stress, Depression, Sports Performance, Fears, Phobias, Weight Control, Pain Control, Confidence (i.e. controlling/ overcoming nervousness before an interview, public speaking, driving test), Ease of pain in child birth and to overcome habits such as smoking, nail biting, and so on.
